Loving GOD

The New Testament book of Acts shows us an irresistible church community, who loved God, loved one another and loved others.

We read in Acts 2: 42-47 how the early church ‘devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.  Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.  All the believers were together and had everything in common.  They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.’

This is the sort of church we want to be, a church who shares life together, who meets together regularly, loves the Lord and who prays, worships, is generous with our resources and our time, eating together, breaking bread together, and experiencing the Lord’s power at work in our midst…

At present we come together in a few different ways to Love God together…

Sunday Services

Whatever is going on in life, our Sunday celebration service is the time in the week that we get to come together as a whole church family, to sing together, pray together, open the word together, encourage one another, and enjoy time together after the service. We love to come together on a Sunday, and you would be so welcome to join us. Our services start at 11 am and more information on what to expect can be found in the link below.

Momentum

Momentum Prayer Gathering is on the last Tuesday of each month, 7.30 pm. It brings the whole Church together to listen to God's voice as one and to share what we hear and learn from God as individuals. It's a time where we worship, pray for one another, for the church, for the community and the world, and to listen to what God is doing among us locally and globally through world missions too.

Momentum is a great way to go deeper together. A couple of times a year we will incorporate a formal church meeting into our time together to discern the mind of Christ together and make decisions as a church.

Gospel Communities

Gospel communities are how we gather, and also how we ‘go into the world during the week. The purpose of Gospel communities is to grow as a church community of Up, In, and Out.

  • Connecting Up – is about our relationship with the Lord

  • Connecting In – is about our relationship with each other as a church community

  • Connecting Out – is about our relationship with those who don’t know the Lord, and about our outreach to our local communities and contexts

Many midweek groups can gather simply to pray and or study the Bible, and we really value these things, but we also want to be midweek groups that reach out, that spur one another on in our outreach, and build accountability and encouragement around outreach, into our times together.

Our Gospel communities are located in 4 or 5 different areas within Denny District, and each one looks a little different depending on the makeup of the group and whom they are connecting with. Some of our groups eat together, and some of our groups run a mixed programme of some weeks focussed on ‘In and Up’ and other weeks focussed on ‘Out’. Others still follow a simple Bible study model with times of sharing and encouragement around outreach on either side.
