Loving Others

As a church, we believe our faith should be good news not just for us but for our community, that we are to be a voice of hope in the challenging times we are living in.  Jesus speaks of how our love for God should naturally flow into love for our neighbours, so we seek to love our community in a number of ways from ministries to acts of kindness, social events, and shopping runs…

Isaiah 61 is an Old Testament that Jesus read out as relating to his own ministry. As followers of Jesus seeking to build his kingdom, we believe this mandate is for us too;

 to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives
  and release from darkness for the prisoners…to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.

With this in mind, there are a number of ways we seek to be a blessing to our community and a voice of hope.
